With Drawn Arms: Exhibit by Glenn Kaino & Tommie Smith

One movement was so powerful that it inspired people back in the 1960s and it continues to make a difference today, fifty-years later. It was the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico, when athletes Tommie Smith and John Carlos raised their fists covered with a Black glove to symbolizing a Black power salute to protest the discrimination and mistreatment of Black people in the United States.
